Fattet Hummus

30 minutes Number of servings: 4-6
  • Ingredients

    • 4 pita breads
    • 1 cup of plain yogurt
    • 2 tbs of Al Yaman tahini
    • 1 lemon juice
    • 1 clove garlic (crushed)
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 0.5 kg of canned chickpeas
    • Toasted pine nuts
    • Chili peppers (for sprinkling)
  • Preparation

    1. Cut up your pita bread into small squares. Optional: Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and a bit of sumac. Bake at 400F until golden.
    2. To make the yogurt sauce, mix together the lemon, garlic, yogurt and tahini until well combined and smooth.
    3. Pine nuts: toast them with Aseel ghee until golden.
    4. Layer the fattet just before serving by starting with the pita bread, then the drained chickpeas, then the yogurt sauce, and finally drizzle with the pine nuts, a bit of olive oil and chili peppers. Serve immediately, sahtein!
